Technology and systems designed specifically to improve the application, management and monitoring of care is having a revolutionary effect across the sector, with digital considered a key enabler in improving efficiency and system-wide integration as ICSs develop. Artificial intelligence is also playing an increasingly important role in service improvement and patient care.
Systems and processes which can improve the safety of patients in the health and care system should be encouraged and implemented. Solutions might have a specific medical purpose which has demonstrable improvements to patient safety, or they might support the workforce in the delivery of care at an organisation or system level.
With a wide range of solutions on offer within varying disciplines, judges will be looking specifically for improvements in patient safety as a result of the implementation of a digital system or process.
